My Father
My father is the son of Violet Francis Curtis and an unknown father.
My grandmother, in her youth, worked as a maid in a ‘large household,’ and it is thought that my biological grandfather might have been somebody else living in this house.
I have been told that there is a connection from my Father’s line to the beginning of the Mormons and indeed I have managed to trace some relatives back to Salt Lake City, but of course this could be coincidence.
My Mother
My mother is the daughter of William Huelin and Ages Edith Gibson, both wealthy, well-connected people.
As an example of the connections had by my Mother’s relatives here is a note on behalf of Prince George to Rosie Carr, my great-grandmother, inviting her for a game of tennis.
I am lucky enough to have several handwritten family trees related to my Mother’s side of the family. I have used these to start constructing a family tree using MyHeritage.com.
My Mother’s line is fairly straightforward however there are inaccuracies in the handwritten trees (after all, they mostly rely on memory, rather than physical evidence) and require much cross-checking.
