Shingles Jab
I have just had my shingles Jab… It was REALLY painful.
The nurse said I should have relaxed my arm as much as possible as that helps it not hurt … It would have been more helpful if she had mentioned that before the jab, not after. Still, she was very nice so I didn’t say anything.
PS
…. It is now about an hour and a half after the jab and it now doesn’t hurt at all so all is OK!
PS 2
… It is now the next day and the site of the injection aches quite a lot.
I also, foolishly, chose my right arm for the jab: this is the side I sleep on so I had an uncomfortable night…
Still, if it help prevent shingles I am sure it is worth it!
About shingles
Shingles is an infection that cause a painful rash (very painful, I have been told).
In England and Wales there are about 50,000 cases of shingles in people aged over 70 and it is estimated that about 50 of these cases result in death.
Around one in four adults will experience shingles in their lifetime.
