The Post Office Vaults
Post Office Vaults
This is a really interesting pub that can be reached from New Street, but also has an entrance on Pinfold Street. Its only a short walk from New Street Station. It doesn’t look much from the outside and is easily missed but it has a great atmosphere inside with a very good selection of beers and cider.
I needed to go into town anyway (I accidentally left a hat in the Bacchus Bar, and went to see if they had found it, which, unfortunately, they had not.
I took the opportunity the visit The Post Office Vaults to take some photographs (and have a pint of Hobson’s Champion Mild, which according to Hobson’s Brewery is “…A Champion British Mild with a smooth character packed full of flavour and aromas of roast caramel, coffee and chocolate.”)
You need to go down some steps as if you are entering a cellar.
It isn’t very big but it is still well worth a visit.
The selection of cask and foreign beers is very good.
Well worth a visit!
